  • Location: Spooner Lake, Lake Tahoe, United States

This beginner's hike is a 2.1 miles round trip on flat terrain. There are many benches along the way as the path winds around the perimeter of Spooner Lake. The meadow has a spectacular array of flowers in hues of orange, yellow and purple when in bloom. The alpines are abundant and the sounds of chipmunks scurrying around fill the air. Also, listen for the rustling of the Alpine leaves and look for ospreys who fish the lake. Trailhead starts in Lake Tahoe Nevada State Park on NV 28 or there is a smaller lot on US 50.
